Friday Facts 2009-10-16 FRIDAY FACTS BCA’s Weekly Newsletter October 16, 2009
Dear Friends:
After engaging in prayer for 2 weeks for Phil Essex the students have had a powerful lesson in the power of our Compassionate God. This is the type of education that is vital to a healthy Christian experience and we at BCA are happy to engage in this work.
From Grade K & 1: “This week has been a busy and awesome week. We witness the power of God to heal as Mr. Essex appears to be on the road to recovery. God has blessed through the prayers of so many…and many of these little ones! We will continue to keep the family in prayer as there is still much left to gain. Also, we have been diligently working, of course, and we have been doing some assessment testing for report cards too. The kids have stayed strong and mostly healthy. Thanks for keeping their diets nutritious, giving them plenty of sleep, and setting them up for success in the classroom. Please be wise to dress them warmly. Hats, mittens, and warm jackets are welcomed.”
From Grade 6 & 7: In the sixth and seventh grade room we are studying heredity and why we have certain traits that make us all look unique and different. We designed our own “kids" by the flip of a penny. Our children's pictures are hanging in the hallway by our room. Come take a look.
Ministry of the Week: “On September 28, Battle Creek Academy brought 40 students to Timber Ridge Manor to do a service project while visiting Andrews. Students worked with the residents cleaning windows, taking out screens for cleaning later, gardening, trimming bushes, shrubs and trees, weeding, and other assorted tasks that the residents requested. They followed up each interaction by passing out a bunch of cheery fall flowers to anyone they worked with (or found sitting outside their rooms). Students from BCA were able to get a taste of what Campus Ministries and participate in Outreach, even before they become Andrews students, some even requested to know when other outreach events were taking place so they could come down and participate in those as well! Thank you Battle Creek Academy for your contribution!” Out Reach Ministries newsletter of Andrews University.
