Friday Facts 2009-11-06 FRIDAY FACTS BCA’s Weekly Newsletter November 6, 2009
Dear Friends:
For over three months the school has been seeking to give God the glory through its ministry to the students. Your support of what we do at BCA is not only appreciated by us, but recorded in Heaven. Last night’s presentation at the Tabernacle reinforced our need to learn from the pioneers of the past who were single-minded in their goal to keep moving the work of spreading of the Gospel forward. At BCA, we join them!
From Grade K & 1: “Thanks, Parents, for whole-heartedly attending your child’s PT conference. We are a team, and the kids do well knowing we’re aiming in the same direction. For us as Christians, the direction is heavenward! We learned about the beauty of the promise-ary rainbow and how God uses it to remind us that He will not forsake us! We are deep in learning about the forest and all the critters that occupy its space. How fun to compare the different habitats around that beautify Michigan and to learn of its special inhabitants. TRANSPORTATION was a catch word too as we learned how people in communities travel. In Battle Creek, that actually does include trains, planes, and automobiles, as well as hot air balloons! We are still busy learning about how numbers look and work together, and this week the first graders met a new family...the fact family!”
From Grade 2 & 3: “We are in awe of the God who made spiders that can spin silk stronger than steel and stretch fifty feet without breaking. We know that if God made spiders that can do so much, He has special plans for us. God ahead…ask me what else we have learned about spiders.”
Special Chapel Sessions: Lee Venden, son of well-known preacher and author Morris Venden, will conduct chapel sessions for BCA elementary and high schools on Friday, November 13th. We expect to have spirit filled time as the students get to know Jesus better. After all, that is our mission!
Week of Prayer: The week of November 16th-20th will be our school-wide emphasis on prayer. Our much anticipated speaker is Karen Toms, Associate Pastor of the Pioneer Memorial Church, and Chaplain for Outreach for Andrews University. The students are already familiar with her ministry and we know that the Lord will bless her effort to lead the students to the Lord.
Ministering Through Quality Music: The Battle Creek Academy Concert Band ministered in music on November 5th for the 25th Anniversary service of 3ABN. This was held at the Tabernacle SDA Church. The hymns performed were “Come Thou Font” and “God of our Fathers”. The event was broadcasted live and is sure to have touched the many viewers world-wide. The academy recognizes the discipline and talent of its student musicians, as nurtured by Ms. Stark, our resident minister of music. 3ABN will continue their celebration this weekend. May God continue to use them for His glory.
Meet With Us: If you missed a parent-teacher appointment for any reason, please contact the individual teacher for another. You are a vital component to our ministry here at BCA.
Call It In! If your child has to be away from school because of illness or other reason, please call the school and let us know. This helps us with our records for that day.
Keep our Kids Safe: Please remember to drive slowly and cautiously when entering or exiting the school. We will be posting a speed limit in the near future. We take the protection of your children seriously.
Remember: Career Day is no longer on Nov 19. It has been postponed. Elvis Agard, Principal |
