Mission Statement
"The Pursuit of Excellence in Christ"

Battle Creek
Academy is a team of educational professionals dedicated to providing quality Christian education and the transmission of our Adventist values and culture to students of our community. Our Academy is motivated by the positive values coming from a trust relationship with God, service to others, and cultivation of a desire to learn.
Our values are centered in Christ and reveal themselves as students grow into their potential, developing an effective ministry in the family, the church, and the community.  We prize the principles of integrity, unconditional acceptance, stewardship, and fiscal stability, and we seek to offer a curriculum that challenges students to own their faith.  We serve our students, their families, the Adventist churches that sponsor us and the wider community in which we live.  We serve by continuing a century-long tradition of providing Christ-centered education rich in the revelation of God’s grace, and by emphasizing the integrated development of the whole person. We seek to offer a safe campus with a nurturing staff that models Adventist beliefs.  We are intentional about developing servant-leaders who build the community and who are ambassadors for the Lord.  We seek partnership with the homes and churches of our students in preparing young people for their eternal home.
Philosophy
Battle Creek Academy is a co-educational elementary-secondary day school operated by four local churches to provide a Seventh-day Adventist Christian education for youth in surrounding communities.  Battle Creek Academy believes man and universe to be the handiwork of the Divine Creator who guides and sustains all. God is considered the Source of all knowledge and wisdom, and His revealed will is the standard of right and truth. With this as its philosophical foundation, the school endeavors to provide its pupils with an educational program that leads to a full commitment of their social, intellectual, physical, and spiritual resources to the service of God and man, and an environment that encourages members of the school family to develop a positive personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  The prime purpose for the existence of the school is to
provide a quality education in an atmosphere conducive to the development of the spiritual life of the student. A true
knowledge of God, fellowship and communion with Him in study and service, and likeness to Him in character
development are to be respectively the source, the means, and the aim of Battle Creek Academy.  Battle Creek Academy conducts a distinctive educational program based on a curriculum designed to prepare the student to cope effectively with the every day experiences of life within the context of the Seventh-day Adventist world view and system of values.
Objectives
Compatible with the Battle Creek Academy’s philosophy, emphasis is placed on the spiritual, academic, physical, and social development of each student.  Our objectives are to....
Spiritual
1. Enhance the cooperation of the family, school, and church in the spiritual development of each student.
2. Win each student to a personal commitment and relationship with Jesus Christ.
3. Integrate Bible knowledge and Adventist Christian values into the life of each student.
4. Give each student an opportunity to develop the desire and ability to relate his/her faith to others in the home, church, school, and community.
Academic
1. Develop a strong scholastic foundation for those continuing in formal education.
2. Introduce students to vocational & technical occupations.
3. Encourage students to continue intellectual development beyond high school.
4. Develop basic skills, intellectual curiosity, habits of accuracy, self-discipline, thinking skills, and responsibility necessary to be a useful citizen.
5. Aid and encourage students to discover their creative abilities.
6. Develop a respect for the dignity of worthwhile labor, regardless of social status.
7. Encourage students to serve the church through denominational employment and as faithful lay members.
Physical
1. To combine the knowledge of theology, nutrition, biology, and kinetics for physical development.
2. To give training in physical development and care for one’s body.
Social
1. To develop the social graces and acceptable social behavior that are consistent with Christian principles.
2. To help students develop a personal concern for their fellow men and women.
3. To develop an aesthetic and intellectual appreciation for proper cultural values.

Our Philosophy
Battle Creek Acadmy is operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to provide a spiritually oriented education for children. A belief in the existence of the Creator God is fundamental in the philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist schools. We respect His divine authority and recognize His intervention in human affairs. We believe that true education develops the spiritual, mental, and physical powers of each student; preparing them for the joy of service in this life and for the higher joy of service in the life to come. To achieve this goal, we encourage each student to:
  • develop a personal relationship with God and his fellow men as stated in Matthew 2:37-39
  • master the basic academic skills
  • value labor, physical and mental, as the
  • blessing God intended
  • cultivate physical fitness, mental ability, and moral purity as the blessing God intended.

Battle Creek Academy is operated in harmony with the guidance and direction of the Office of Education, North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
