FRIDAY FACTS
October 24, 2008

Snow! This week the weather station announced that we could see some snowflakes next week. Several of the elementary students were excited to hear this. I will have to admit I am too. There is something about a beautiful snowfall that makes me look at the world differently.

Fifth and Sixth grade students returned from Outdoor Education on Wednesday afternoon. Students spent 4 days at Camp AuSable exploring the wonderful things of nature. They were involved in many activities including nature devotions, learning about different aspects of nature, and the famous night hike. They were also able to meet some students from area Michigan SDA schools who attended the program with them. The students had a great time.

The Senior Class will be placing one more BCA Sweatshirt order. The shirts come in three styles: Hoodie ($22), Crew ($17), and T. Shirt ($11). There are many different sizes and color options. You may place your orders either by calling Mrs. Eberhard or by ordering through the office. For more information please call Mrs. Eberhard at 967-1359 or 317-1381 by October 30.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are right around the corner. Conferences will be held on Thursday, November 6 from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. Elementary students should have brought home a conference form this week. High school parents please call the school office to set up an appointment. If you are unable to attend conferences on November 6 please feel free to contact your child’s teacher(s) to make other arrangements.

Saturday night Picnic-n-Pops had the biggest turn out ever. The evening started with the school song. Students in grades 1-4 lead the school song as the band played. The evening progressed with an auction with pies going for over $80. On this year’s band trip, the students will be visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington D.C. The BCA band passed a “hat” around to collect money so that they could place a large wreath on the grave. The final number was the famous Battle Hymn of the Republic. Ms. Stark would like to give a big “thank you” to all who attended Picnic-n-Pops Saturday night. The feeling of school spirit was alive and well.

Please keep Rick and Natasha Mattson (parents of Isabelle) in your prayers. This week their apartment was destroyed by fire. Though no one was injured in the fire, they have lost most of their things.

Have a blessed weekend.
