When it comes to snow closings we cancel classes when road conditions are bad or at least one of the neighboring school districts closes. Remember if your local school district closes and we are open, your child’s absence will be excused. This will not negatively impact the high school perfect attendance policy.

 

Last Monday about 150 teachers and principals from the Michigan Conference met at our school for their annual fall in-service. A special thanks to Mrs. Tracey Hall, Mr. Dan Ward and the Junior class for all their help.

 

On a different note, we want to highlight two students this week. 1^st, congratulations to senior student Katie French whose article was chosen for publication in November Lake Union Herald. The multi-talented Ms. French received a $100 scholarship for her submission. 2^nd, Luke Penrod has presented two chapels in the last month that have been fun and thought provoking, Thank you Luke.

 

Yesterday the elementary students participated in a Harvest Celebration sponsored by the Campus Ministries department. This serves a wholesome alternative to the regular festivities of the season and focuses on the Bible. Thank you to all that helped.

 

Next Thursday, November 6^th, we have parent/teacher conferences. Classes will dismiss at 11:30 am !!! (parents don’t forget). Elementary parents call your teacher or complete and return the form sent home with your child earlier. High School parents call the office to schedule. We look forward to seeing each of you.

 

Scholarship information is regularly posted on the board outside of the school office. Check is out!! Aid is available to students in 5^th grade through college. For additional information please see Ms. Nelsen

Saturday, November 8 –         Fall Fest in school gym from 7:00-9:00 pm.

 

This weekend marks the time of year when we FALL BACK. Please adjust your clocks accordingly and enjoy the extra hour of rest. It is also peak color weekend, a great time to get outdoors and enjoy a walk with family and friends on Sabbath after worship.
