Friday Facts 2009-08-21 FRIDAY FACTS
BCA’s Weekly Newsletter
August 21, 2009
Dear Friends,
From Grade 2 & 3: We have been learning how to become peacemakers. With Jesus we can have the Fruit of the Spirit, peace. Matthew 5:9 is what we want in out classroom since, “Those who work to bring peace are happy.” So everyone signed a Peacemaker Certificate, did a choral reading, and made a book about peace in our class. We are so happy to be back together at BCA.
From Grade 6 & 7: Every week for this quarter, in conjunction with the elementary school’s theme, Build an Ark, we are discussing 1 Christ-like quality that Noah had. We defined it, look up Bible texts that use this word, discuss how it was represented in Noah’s life, and how we can represent it in our lives. This week’s discuss was courage.
Pop Can Drive: The witnessing class invites you to participate in a pop can drive to support a large but very poor mission school in the Philippines. Many students come to Christ there, but their facilities and supplies are severely limited. You can help our Philippine brothers and sisters by depositing your empty pop can in the barrel at the entrance of the school. Thanks in advanced for your support
Stuff-A-Bus: BCA has partnered with CityLinC (a local Christian help organization) to collect school supplies for those less fortunate in our area. Each class has been doing a great job at stuffing book bags with school supplies for others. This stuff-a-bus program ends soon so hop right in and help us help others by dropping items into the box at the entrance of the school.
BCA Handbook: Our newly designed handbooks are available at the office. Along with the usual contents it now has a calendar that can facilitate better communication between the home and school. There is a limit of one per student and each contains a page that must be signed and returned to the school. Remember to grab your copy today.
We have had a great start to the school year and we look forward with confidence for God’s continued leadership. Have a great Sabbath!
