Social Excellence
Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another. Romans 12:10 (Amplified Bible)

Journey to Excellence
As beings fashioned in the image of God, humans are social creatures. As part of his or her development the complete student in Christ is taught how to interact with others. They know that this skill is important to spreading the gospel to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.
At Battle Creek Academy we seek to accomplish this in a variety of ways.
- Students experience all their training and education within the context of a family oriented environment.
- Faculty and students relate much in the mode of a loving family, creating the best environment for character development and expressing the love of God.
- Whether student-driven or school initiated, there are many opportunities for social interaction.
- Throughout the year one can engage in spirit week, events designed for student and by students of the student association, as well as music, church and service programs.
- In the classroom our students learn the skills necessary for respectful and productive peer and teacher interaction. They learn the proficiencies necessary for successful social engagement, including biblical conflict resolution, accepting failure gracefully, and discernment in selecting close associates of high moral character. Seniors participate in a marriage project in the high school.
- Students learn than proper development and use of talents, and expressing oneself with humility is the way of Christ.
- Current events, especially those of natural disasters, offer opportunities to teach compassion, sympathy, empathy, sacrifice, and practice godliness for the benefit of others.
- Service, time management, money management, and budgeting other non-monetary resources are a part of students’ education in biblical stewardship.
- As our enrollment becomes increasingly diverse, we have embraced the opportunity to foster a spirit of inclusivity that extends beyond awareness to appreciation and love for or global brothers and sisters as children of God.
- In age-appropriate ways, opportunities to engage in both compensated work and voluntary service are offered. The spectrum of service spans classroom chores, homeroom and whole school service initiatives, tuition assistance opportunities, high school graduation credit, National Honors Society requirements, and mission trips.
